This Charity is dedicated to the memory of Alan Charles Senitt murdered in Washington DC on 9th July 2006 whilst defending a friend. The core purpose of the trust is for it to be a testimony to and the perpetuation of the life, work and aspirations of Alan for the benefit of future generations.

Grants will help young UK Jews forge links and visit Israel, support interfaith dialogue and education, combat anti-Semitism and islamaphobia and facilitate sporting activities among disadvantaged youngsters. Support those working and/or wanting to work in the fields that Alan covered and give financial support to Jewish Students through their time of study. We will additionally be working with the metropolitan police to promote the awareness of the effects of street crime.

We have lost a much loved son and brother. The Jewish community as a whole has lost one of its bright young leaders and the wider world has lost a champion of peace and goodwill. We will leave it to others to describe all that Alan had achieved in his short life.

Let me start by thanking you for all the support you have already shown the Alan Senitt Memorial Trust, it is all very much appreciated as the trust continues to go from strength to strength.

After our official launch at the House of Lords in December, we held our first fundraising event in February, a Pub Quiz for the under 35’s, where we raised a massive £6,500. We have also just chosen the first person who will be receiving a grant from us for their studies, something which we know will keep Alan’s dreams alive.

Other events you should watch out for are all listed under our events page. Ther are many different events for you to come along to and show your support, but do you want to help in a different way?

We are looking for a few people who would like to get involved in helping us to run the trust.

Do you have specialist knowledge and/or skills in an area that could help us like Publicity, Marketing, Websites, Event Planning?

We are looking to form a committee of people who can really assist the trust in the day to day practicalities. If you think you have got what it takes and have something to offer, please contact us.
